Godox Ving V850 System Review
What's in the Box
Note that I am reviewing the Neewer TT850 version of the flash, identical to the Godox V850 except for the lettering. I will refer to the system as Godox throughout this review to keep things simple.
The box is about twice as large as what you would expect for your typical flash, since it also houses the battery and charger. The battery ships fully charged. The charger is simple but well-made, and even includes status LEDs indicating the charge level. It will take 2.5 hours to fully charge a depleted battery.
The flash is stored in a sturdy and surprisingly well-padded case which includes an inner pocket that hides a flash stand. This pocket can also store the RF-16s radio receiver.
The manual is well-written (in good English) and includes a lot of useful information. For instance Godox/Neewer provide a precise table describing in which conditions the flash will go in overheat protection mode, the Guide Number according to the zoom position, etc. Every operating mode is described, clearly and accurately.
RF-16s triggers
The triggers come in a more basic package, a simple plastic wrap (packaging could vary according to the seller location; this package shipped from Hong Kong). A simple manual describing the operation of the transmitter accompanies the kit.
