We would have expected a case to be included given the price level of the lens. The matching case is the Pentax S90-140 soft lens pouch, but it is must be purchased separately and is hard to come by.
Warranty
In the US, Pentax lenses only come with a 1-year limited warranty. In Europe and Canada, the warranty is good for two years, while Australia shares the same 12-month coverage as in America.
The DC autofocus technology used in this lens is not prone to failure, so the standard warranty coverage will suffice for most users. However, if you plan to make the 16-85mm your workhorse lens and frequently leverage its weather sealing capabilities, we still recommend a third-party extended warranty. While the standard warranty does cover moisture ingress in the unlikely event of failed or defective weather seals, it does not cover accidental damage or misuse, and has a relatively short duration.
