HD Pentax-DA 20-40mm F2.8-4 Limited
What's in the Box
The 20-40mm, like other lenses launched toward the end of 2013, is packaged in a redesigned box featuring the Ricoh Imaging logo and a large "K" to indicate that it's a Pentax K-mount DSLR lens. The box is approximately twice as big as any of the Limited prime boxes.

Inside the box there are no surprises, and you will find the following:
- The HD Pentax-DA 20-40mm F2.8-4 ED Limited DC WR lens
- A dedicated metal front lens cap (O-LW65A)
- A generic plastic rear K-mount cap
- A dedicated metal screw-in hood (MH-RA55)
- A dedicated faux leather pouch
- Serial number card, manual, and other paperwork
The metal hood, metal lens cap, and leather pouch speak to the high build quality of this lens.
The hood is surprisingly-small: much smaller than that of the 18-55mm kit lens, for instance. It doesn't employ a petal design, which reduces the shade it offers. It also doesn't contain any filter threads on the inside, which means that all filters must be mounted directly on the lens.
Warranty
The manufacturer's warranty included with every Pentax lens varies from region to region. In the US and Australia, the warranty period is one year from the date of purchase. In Canada and Europe, customers enjoy a 2-year warranty. Generally-speaking, purchasing from an authorized dealer is required to be elegible for warranty coverage.
