Making of "Martini Spashdown"

Set Up

First I set up my shot as I always would: I put a bent-stem martini glass in the center of a white foamcore board covered with a sheet of clear glass on my shooting table and placed another white foamcore board directly behind it learning against the wall to create a "seamless" white background that would also reflect the glass and the splash underneath.

Next I placed one Pentax AF 360 flash to camera left on a tabletop tripod with a Rosco "No Color Pink" flash gel attached to the front element and pointed the flash towards the white background against the wall about 8 inches away.  The other Pentax AF 360 flash was also set up on a small tabletop tripod to camera right, with a "Half Blue" Rosco flash gel on it and pointed it towards the background on the other side of the scene, pointing towards the background.
