P-TTL Test Images
Flash Modes
Below we compare the following flash modes:
- Slow sync (row 1)
- High speed sync (rows 2 to 6) (The A-lens test was done with another scene than F/FA)
- Standard sync in M exposure mode (row 7)
- Standard sync in P exposure mode (row 8)
- Trailing curtain sync in P exposure mode (row 9)
Setup:
- Pentax K-3
- Unprocessed JPGs (except for scaling)
- Autofocus with center focus point
- smc Pentax-A, -F, and -FA 50mm F1.4 lenses
- AF 360 FGZ II flash mounted on camera
- Direct flash, zoom head at 48 mm matching the lenses

Observations:
- F and FA lenses perform virtually identical
- F and FA images slightly underexposed
- The A lens tends towards overexposure with a (very) few blown highlights
- Flash zoom must be set manually with A-series lenses
- HSS provides darker results as the shutter speed increases
