Pentax-DA 55-300mm F4-5.8 Review

Introduction

Pentax-DA 55-300mm

In this review we'll take a closer look at the Pentax DA 55-300mm F4-5.8 zoom lens. This lens is produced in two different versions: DA L and DA. The DA L variant comes bundled with camera kits, while the DA is sold separately. The two variants are optically identical, but the DA L is cheaper as it has a plastic mount and does not allow manual adjustments to the focus on the fly (no "quick-shift"). Both versions of this lens pair nicely with the 18-55mm kit lens, and we'll take a look at how it handles and what one can expect in terms of image quality. Finally, we will help you determine if this lens is right for you. The the lens used in this review was the DA variant, which can be purchased for $349.
