Pentax-DA* 55mm F1.4 Review
What's in the Box
The Pentax DA* 55mm F1.4 package includes the following:
- the lens
- a 58mm snap on front lens cap
- rear lens cap
- PH-RBH 58mm lens hood
- S90-100 soft lens case
- Serial number card
- Pentax DA Interchangeable Lens Operating Manual.
There are two things that are clearly noted on the box. First, in bright print, it states that the lens is SDM ONLY. This reinforces the fact that the lens does not use the cameras screw drive. The second notice that draws your attention is the symbol of a camera with raindrops and dust particles falling on it, with the word SEALED underneath. This highlights the fact the lens has weather-resistant and dust resistant construction.
When you open the package, you will find the soft nylon lens case wrapped in a small plastic bag. Once you remove the lens from the case, and remove it from its plastic bag, you will find the lens hood stored over the lens. You can either leave the lens hood attached to the lens or you can turn it a quarter turn and remove it completely. You are then ready to mount it on your camera and begin taking pictures with your new lens.
