Pentax K-500 Review
What's in the Box
In the US, the Pentax K-500 ships with a AA battery holder instead of the compatible rechargeable battery. If you would rather use a dedicated li-ion battery with your camera, you can, but you'd have to a K-BC109 charger and the D-LI109 battery separately. Alternatively, you could opt for the K-50, which ships with a rechargeable battery.
The other accessories included with the K-500 kit are fairly similar to what you might see bundled with other DSLRs. In the box, you will find the following:
- The K-500 camera body itself
- A DA L 18-55mm kit lens w/ caps
- Push-on body mount cap, mounted on camera
- USB cable (I-USB7)
- Hotshoe cover, mounted on camera (FK)
- Eyecup, mounted on camera (FR)
- Software CD (S-SW138)
- Neck strap (O-ST132)
- K-500 Manual (language varies by region)
- Generic DA-series lens manual
- Camera serial number card
- Lens serial number card
If you purchased the dual lens kit, you will also find included:
- A DA L 50-200mm lens w/ caps
- Additional lens serial number card

The lenses bundled with the K-500 do not come with hoods or cases.
In the US, there are no K-500 body-only kits. Furthermore, the K-500 will not be available in the Japanese market.
