Sigma 10-20mm F3.5 vs F4.0-5.6

Image Quality: Angle of View

The main reason why you buy an ultra-wide angle zoom is for the extreme angle of view. Lens manufacturers often claim angle of view beyond what you can achieve in the field. The only specifications that really matter are the ones that will show up in your images. The only way to truly compare a lens is to view the final product. Since it is not always possible to have both Sigma lenses on hand at the same time, we have taken the liberty of displaying both images so you can compare them together.

Sigma 10mm f/8.0 (Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5)

Sigma 10-20 F3.5

Sigma 10mm f/8.0 (Sigma 10-20mm f/4.0-5.6)

Sigma 10-20 F4.0-5.6

Conclusion

Comparing these two ultra-wide angle zooms did not establish a clear winner. The angle of view is identical, although the Sigma 10-20mm F/3.5 EX DC HSM  might be marginally wider.
