Pentax-DA 50-200mm F4-5.6 WR Review

Handling and Construction

Let's first show some inages of the lens:

The zoom and focus rings are both tight and operate smooth and predictably. The zoom ring is quite wide and very comfortable to hold and turn. However, the focus ring is a bit narrow and can be difficult to find while looking through the view finder. When zoomed to 200mm the lens gets pretty long, but it does not interfere with the built in flash on the test camera and there are no dark spots noticeable in shots where the flash was used and the lens fully extended. While the front element never rotates it does extend and retract a bit while focusing, effecting the zoom (it zooms in or out a little depending on where the focus is).
