Topaz Adjust 5 Review

Fun Effects

Here are two slightly more aggressive corrections. First Vibrant Collection - Bold:

Next we tried Stylized Collection - Comic Book:

When you click a preset the previous adjustment gets replaced with the new preset. It is, however, possible to "stack" adjustments. If you click the Apply button the current adjustment is saved and you can add another one on top. You can go on like that as needed. It is also possible to fine tune the strength of an adjustment before you apply it. This is just like when using the opacity slider on a layer in Photoshop.

However, in the interest of simplicity there are no layers (like in Photoshop) and you cannot go back and tweak an adjustment after it has been committed, unless you are willing to discard the changes made since that adjustment was committed. There is also no history list so you tend to lose track of what adjustments were made if you try stacking too many.

Here we have stacked two adjustments, Adjust4-Crisp and HDR Collection-Dynamic Pop:

While some of these more exaggerated effects are obviously not going to be useful for enhancing everyday photographs, there are certain situations where they come in handy and thus shouldn't written off as mere gimmicks.

In total, Adjust has over 160 preset adjustments, so we recommend that you sample these for yourself to see which suit your needs the most.
