Welcome to the first photo software review by PentaxForums.com! Over the course of the following months, we will be taking an in-depth look at post-processing software that we've found helpful in our workflows.
Topaz Adjust is a plugin developed by Topaz Labs which supplements photo-editing software such as Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom by adding exposure and color-correcting tools and many time-saving presets for effective one-click image enhancement. Based in Dallas, Texas, Topaz specializes in image editing and provides their solutions in the form of plug-ins for Photoshop and other image editors. Topaz Adjust is one of their many plug-ins - and one of our favorites!
If you want to spend more time taking photographs and less time post processing your images, the Topaz Adjust plug-in is worth considering. Topaz Adjust version 5 was just released, and it really impressed us, as it introduces several new features over the previous while still being a free upgrade for current owners. Even if you use a powerful program like Adobe Photoshop CS5 we have found this plug-in to be a real time saver because of its powerful presets which save you from having to do a lot of detailed adjustments manually.
Topaz Adjust cannot be used as a standalone application and instead must be launched from inside another photo editing program. It works with Photoshop, Lightroom, Aperture, iPhoto, Paint Shop Pro, Photo Impact, Irfanview, and other applications that support Photoshop plug-ins. It provides an easy way to correct and balance image exposure and color, enhance dynamic range and enhance details. Other Topaz plug-ins are available for noise reduction, B&W effects, removal of JPG artifacts, and more.
While the commercial post-processing applications mentioned above are packed with features and can do just about anything one could imagine, they have a very steep learning curve and are not easy to master (especially Photoshop). This is where Topaz plug-ins come in handy - they simplify common tasks and provide an easy-to-use, intuitive user interface. Read on for an in-depth look at how Topaz Adjust can save you time and quickly improve your photos!
