Topaz ReMask 5 Review
Installation & Configuration
Installing is straight forward. Head to the Topaz web site and click on ReMask.
Then download either the free trial or pay upfront. If you opt for the trial license you'll receive a 30-character number for downloading for Windows or Mac. This key provides full access to ReMask for 30 days. Then you download and run the installer, making sure, you've exited out of any open programs before installing. Instructions to access Topaz from your specific host program will be provided.
Operating with Lightroom
If you are running Lightroom, you can install ReMask 5 as a separate external editor in Lightroom. Be aware that you should first save your file as a separate high resolution TIFF file as the current version ReMask will not preserve your Lightroom adjustments.
From within Lightroom just do the following:
- Edit -> Preferences, click on the External Editing tab
- Under the 'Additional External Editor' select Topaz ReMask 5 from the drop down list
- Select the Choose button to the right of the Application:
- Select the correct .exe file; then
- Select Update Preset "Topaz ReMask 5" from the drop down list, it will be at the end
- Exit and restart Lightroom and the preset, with the updated location, is ready to use.
