Pros: Inexpensive, solid, easy, TALL
Cons: Less sturdy than more expensive models

Excellent Monopod for $17. I'm 6'3" and this monopod fits me incredibly well. I was a bit skeptical of a $17 monopod, but with the return policy of Amazon what did I have to loose? Well, it is a solid piece of matte black equipment that extends tall enough for me to use without stooping at all. The retractable spike with rubber foot is another plus as is the enclosed bag. Overall, easy to extend and set up, light weight, solid enough for my K-x with 55-300 attached, and did not break the bank.

UPDATE November 2011: When I added a higher end head to my tripod I moved the Dolica Proline ball head over to the monopod (had to get a 1/4 to 3/8 adapter to do so BTW) and it works very well as a combination giving me added ability to position the camera without the need to lean the monopod (sometimes, particularly in crowds, that is just not really doable or polite).

UPDATE: May 2013: The screw embedded into the monopod pulled out of the base thereby making the monopod unusable.
