This is an excellent product, with the exception that, because of the added depth to the camera back, about 3/16 inch, brushing the camera against clothing can dislodge the folding hood which is generally lost. Other than that I can recommend it based on my experience with 2 or three of them on my K10.

This device consists of a relatively common type plastic cover, but is combined with a shade. It covers the entire screen with a metal cover when closed, and snaps open to view the screen, shading from the top and both sides making it much easier to see what is on the LCD screen in bright light. For indoor use, the shade is easily removed by sliding a fraction to the left, leaving the LCD viewable without opening the shade. For outdoor use it is just as easy to reinstall.
This is my second one, having broken the first when I broke the top plate of the camera slipping on rocks.  It cost a lot more to fix the camera.
