Pros: | solid, nice grip and comfort shooting portrait orientation | Cons: | | | got this grip a while back believe after using one that came with my K-1 in a bundle deal and compelled me to get one for the K-3ii
it is a neewer badged unit came with li90 and AA trays.....
both the contact cover and body cover fit nicely in their 'compartments' when removed for the unit to be attached
the shutter button is no different to me in regards to feel getting focus and shooting even has the dof preview movement which I rarely use.....the front wheel turns smoothly with solid 'clicks'.......iso is easily changed and +/- values as well being in the same position as on the body...
the rear AF button works as it should.....the rear wheel is as smooth as front with no issues and also 'clicks'....green button and works like a charm....the ae-l is rather close to the rear wheel but has not been an issue...
have yet to wear out 2 batteries during an outing.....the best feature is the ease and comfort I have shooting in portrait orientation.....it works so well I about 'ferget' that's the orientation I am shooting....I like shooting so called mild brenizer or portrait panos (2-3 mostly) and it's a breeze
could still use comfortably use with a flash bracket/stroboframe mounted....what a rig!
one thing I seem to have a problem with and no fault of the grip is to remember is firstly to turn it on and lastly turn it off !!
it is not WR but was well aware of this fact beforehand does not retract from the unit as I have 2 WR lens (18-55, 50-200) and would not ever intend to shoot in poor conditions with the grip attached
in comparison to the price of the oem this is a no brainer and a huge advantage price wise for the comfort and battery power using this grip
have no problem recommending it's purchase and use

Pros: | Works as expected - releases easier than my genuine Pentax D-BG5 | Cons: | None | | I'm not sure who made this unit. It has nothing written on it to that effect. A label on it says:
"Battery grip
Fits Pentax
K-3
(D-BG5 Replacement)"
It came with a pair of DSTE batteries.
It fits well and feels good to use. In fact, in actual use I cannot tell it apart from the Pentax unit. It actually releases better from teh camera than does the Pentax unit. The mounting screw on the genuine one tends to bind a bit.

Pros: | price | Cons: | doesn't really fit properly | | Had one of those and was never happy with it. Unlike the D-BG4 knock off this one was a bit wobbly on camera. I had to use grinder to remove the lip all around the top of it to fit it properly but the wobble never really went away. Didn't feel me with confidence at all while holding cameea in poirtrait position. Very flimsy dials as well.
Bought genueine pentax on black friday sale and it fits much better and feels much better overall.
I was very happy with D-BG4 knock off and I'd recommend it for K5 but this one is much worse.

Pros: | works well, durable battery latch and responsive controls, price | Cons: | button feel | | It's occasionally available from amazon. It works properly and the workmanship is not bad. The button feel is a bit less defined than on the K-3 but quite comparable to lower-end pentax cameras.
I think it is worth the price, especially, because it costs less than half of the price of original Pentax grip. It was $55 with two batteries and a carrier for AA batteries.
