Pros: ability to choose your layout, good capacity for a day
Cons: Expensive

I bought this after a long search for a suitable hiking / photography backpack. While very expensive, it has just about everything I could want. It has enough capacity to hold everything for a day climbing above the snow line.

This pack, like all the mountain series uses internal camera units (ICU) so the amount of space taken up by photography gear can be tailored to suit. The medium shallow icu should be enough for most people, and you can put a small icu on top if you need more space.

Even with the large ICU, there is space to carry food, water, a rain jacket, climbing gear etc. the aluminium frame and adjustable harness with padded waist belt makes it easy carying, even when fully loaded. It feels more like a hiking pack than a camera pack.

In short, Expensive, but a solid tool for a photographer in the wilderness
