Pros: | Fast, powerful, flexible and free image viewer and manipulation program | Cons: | Doesn't have a photo-tagging feature. | | I've used FastStone Image Viewer for many years and have found it powerful very easy to use.
It runs under Windows (I'm currently using it in Windows 10 without problems) and I have run it under Wine on Linux too.
It reads and edits Pentax RAW and Adobe DNG files but only saves the edited file in an industry-standard format (JPG, BMP, PNG etc.)
It also allows you to edit the images with external editors (such as SilkyPix, GIMP, RawTherapee etc)
For me the only let-down in the program is the lack of a tagging database to accompany the photographs.
