HRPQ AC Power Adapter for Pentax DSLRs
supersize

Description:
This is a third party Pentax AC adapter that states it works with the K-5. Since the Pentax AC adapter that works with the K-5 also works with the K-3 it is likely this adapter - selling for $16 with shipping - will do the job on the K-5 and K-3
see: Amazon
and see: eBay
I wish I had seen this before I purchased the Pentax adapter for over $100.

Pros: Cheap, works.
Cons: None

Mine is labeled as 'ExPro D-AC50' but it looks exactly the same. A cheap alternative to the grossly overpriced Pentax unit. Pluggable mains lead to suit your country - mine came with a 2m UK type lead. Label states 100-240V 50/60Hz in and 8.3V DC @ 2A out. On the DC side there is a 1.5m long lead terminated in the Pentax standard plug. Enclosed leaflet claims the unit to have over-current, over-voltage, over-power and short circuit protection. Works fine with my K-7 and K-5ii. Looks quite reasonable build and runs cool in use. Time will tell if it lasts.
