Surprisingly good quality. Metal construction, nicely machined. Paint match seems more or less perfect to the silver Q 01 lens.
Came with a small lens cleaning cloth as well.
I can't think of any reason to buy the official Pentax hood over this.
The screw on cap can be be quickly put on and off with a quick spin of the finger.

Excellent product. Fits well, screws in smoothly, and is solid metal. This hood by JJC appears to be as close to the OEM Pentax hood as possible but costs less than 1/3 what the Pentax branded hood costs.
The interior has a matte black finish to reduce reflections. The included lens cap is a screw in model and is 25mm in diameter at the threads. The screw in lens cap has lots of threads and takes a good bit of turning to fit snugly. Someone pointed out that you can use pinch caps instead or you can put small rubber bands around the threads thereby decreasing the number of turns needed to snug it down while still having it securely attached to the hood.
Very nice hood that doesn't break the bank. | |
