Kata 3n1-10
supersize

Description:
The 3N1-10 sling backpack features a unique TST RIB structural protection for a DSLR with mid-range zoom lens attached as well as 1-2 lenses, flash + personal gear.
This unique bag provides ultimate freedom and allows for three carrying options in one while morphing from sling to backpack and back again.
In sling position, the bag easily swings around from back to front to achieve quick draw access to your main camera and backup lenses as well as fast and easy changing of lenses.
In backpack position and "X" position you can comfortably carry your equipment for long distances.
Arrange your equipment in the bottom main compartment of the pack taking full advantage of the modular dividers to custom fit the bag to your exact equipment.
The large top compartment will hold personal gear or additional gear, and the internal pockets and mp3 player pouch will allow you to organize your personal effects as efficiently as your photographic gear.
Two external pockets allow quick zippered access to accessories without opening the main compartments.
The included rain cover folds neatly away into an integrated pocket and can be hung out to dry on the small buckle next to the handle, or tucked away for storage in one of the pockets.

Pros: Versatile, sturdy, comfortable, looks great
Cons: Tripod holder is extra

No bag is perfect, so I gave it a 9. After 3 weeks of ownership I really don't have any complaints. The bags first test was when I shot a junior college water polo game. In the sling position I was able to quickly switch from a 70-210 for all the action to a 17-50 for portraits and scenery. I had the bag slid around my chest the whole time and it was a great platform for my elbows and resting my camera. Once my shoulder got tired I just grabbed the second strap (which has been tucked away this whole time) and turned it into a back pack. Great versatility. Lowepro and Tamrac have similar designs but this was the first and side access is much better. Just undo the large clip and pull. No need to undo both zippers. And it looks way better than the other guys.

In terms of gear, at the water polo shoot, I had a Canon 40D with a 28-135 (don't worry, it was my girl friends camera), my K-7 with out a lens attached in the upper compartment and a Tamron 17-50 and Vivitar 70-210 in the lower compartment. The bag is supposed to carry only one body but I made it work. You can easily fit 4 primes and a body with a zoom in there. I recommend hopping on Youtube and watching the demonstrations for this bag. Pretty cool versatility and technology coming out of Kata.
