I saw this item in a camera shop. Its an upgraded film device to protect one's camera LCD monitor. Its thicker than the usual LCD film, and the package claims it has "high image transmission using anti-reflective coated film" and anti-scratch hardcoat. There is only one per package.
The package comes with clear instructions. One peels off the anti-stick film from the bottom as you align the edge to your LCD monitor, then progressively press down the rest of it. Did i say to clean the monitor first :-) Presto, it installed easily with no bubbles - a first for me over a previous film experience.
Outdoors, i used my body as a shield and saw very little transmission difference between my K20, without any film, and the K5 with the Kenko film. In direct harsh sunlight, however, the K20 LCD monitor, without film, was easier to read than the K5 with the Kenko film. The Kenko film over the monitor had a film quality to it but was was still fairly easy to read in direct sunlight.
So i'll give it a 9 for price, ease of installation, and functionality. But it was not as good as no screen in direct harsh sunlight.
I bought the General Purpose "3" screen". Alas, at home, i discovered that. It fits exactly the viewing area, but the LCD area is 1/8" larger all around than the viewing area, for assembly purposes i guess. I also found that my 3" monitor doesn't measure 3" but measusres 2 5/8". I'll use it as is until i get back to the big city.
