Pros: | Solid LowePro construction, inexpensive, SlipLock | Cons: | Front flap is just weird, and dysfunctional, pockets too small. | | Another small case from Lowepro that is designed for a specific size camera - the MFT's from Panasonic, Olympus, etc. fit in the main compartment with non-telephoto lenses attached.
As with most Lowepro smaller bags and accessory items it comes with their SlipLock attachment paddle for use with larger bags. The Rezo series provides good protection at a minimal weight. I particularly like the security press stud for the belt loop/SlipLock paddle because it secures the paddle against the velcro and puts the pressure against the stud thereby making it far harder for a snag to tear the bag off your belt or off its attachment point - good design!
There are two small loops on the back of the case that allow the attachment of a shoulder strap (included). The Rezo does not come with a weather cover and is not waterproof, unlike many other Lowepro cases.
My biggest complaint with this case is the flap that covers the front accessory compartment. It is non-functional. It would have been nice if the flap had a zipper pouch or something to hold more accessories, or if it covered the zipper for the main compartment thereby adding some water intrusion protection but it doesn't.
There are two compartments; a large zippered compartment for the camera in back, and a small zippered pocket in front. The front pocket easily accommodates spare batteries and memory cards. The smaller front compartment has plenty of room for an extra memory card and a spare battery (but not the charger). Again, the velcro attached top flap is totally useless (really - it's only decorative, but it gets in the way).
It fits the Panasonic GF2 with 14mm lens attached with room to spare, will carry an extra battery and cards and isn't huge. It will work with my existing SlipLock equipment and can go on its own with the shoulder strap that is included. It's not perfect but it will do the job. 11/14/12: This case is just dysfucntional. I thought I could adjust to the stupid non-functional flap but it gets in the way with no added benefit. The front pocket is big enough for a couple small batteries and a couple SD cards but nothing else. As a pouch on the side of a larger LowePro case via the SlipLock attachment its marginally useful - as an independent case it really isn't. Revised to a 5. | |
