Pros: | Well constructed, long enough for tall people | Cons: | hardware is BULKY | | I wanted a strap that I could quickly disconnect from my K-x that I am using primarily on tripod these days for moon shots and other telescope uses. A post here on the forums led me to a $5 shipped deal from AvidMax and since I've been very happy with most of my LowePro gear I thought I'd give this a try.
First the good, it's well made and long enough for a 6'3" person to wear traditionally. The connectors appear well made and solid. Repeated strong pulling did not result in any deformation or disconnects. The non-slip underside of the strap seems to work well.
Now the not so good, the hardware is HUGE and when disconnected from the strap the connectors to the camera are LONG and flop around a great deal making the removal of the strap meaningless. They add a good deal of space when storing the camera+strap in the bag in comparison to the standard strap.
For $5 is is probably worth a try if you think you need a detachable strap. Mine went into my unused camera gear drawer after 2 days. | |

Pros: | Perfect strap width, non-slip grip on strap, quick disconnects are secure and easy to operate, no logos | Cons: | Have to make sure it will support the weight of your camera & lens. | | Found this strap on *************** in Dec., 2011 for $5 (free shipping) and bought one to see how I would like it. Loved the quick disconnects and the feel of the strap. The non-slip material on the bottom side of the strap keeps the strap in place on your shoulder. The weight of my gear is within the specs of the strap so I ended up buying two more for $5 each.
