Got a few of these with two second hand clamps that use this system and it's a very good solution. Definitely get some extras for your gear that uses these. Mine are the older type with a set screw as a twist stop. I know the newer ones come with a plastic push-in pin.

If you own a Manfrotto tripod head or monopod head with the RC-2 quick release system, it pays to pick up a couple of extra quick release plates to save valuable time when changing cameras or lenses. I have a plate secured to my cameras ( K20D, K-3 ), DA* 60-250 tripod foot and my Sigma 150-500 tripod foot. Having everything ready to mount quickly is a real bonus and reduces my chances of missing a photographic opportunity. I highly recommend this accessory plate.
