When I first got my Kx, I went out an bought what I thought were good UV filters for each of my lenses. (I was used to putting UV filters on my lenses from my film days.) I immediately realized the filters affected image quality, so I removed them all.
I got this filter (49mm) to have on hand for shooting in less than ideal conditions. This filter does not adversely affect image quality, so I may just buy more for my other lenses. Marumi filters are very nice quality at a reasonable price compared to other pro filters.
