Latest Review Posted | Yespainting Dual 45 degree split focus screen I inherited several M42 lenses from my father. Some are pretty good glass and I wanted to use them. Using some of them with the stock screen on my K-X was a lesson in frustration. I noticed particularly with the shorter focal length lenses that it was very difficult to get a good focus and it does not help that my eyes are not as good as the use to be.
I found this vendor on e-bay after I saw a discussion on reasonably priced focusing screens on this forum. The person that posted about the screen gave a relatively good review and the vendor had reasonably good feedback so I figured I would give it a go. The vendors E-Bay store is call "Yespainting". The price on the unit seems to vary week to week sometimes it is approximately $18 and I have seen it as low as $16 with free shipping to the US.
I placed the order and and hoped that it would actually show up being it shows its location as Hong Kong. About 3 weeks after I placed the order an bulging non-padded envelope showed up via USPS. I opened and found a nice flip open sprung case that contained finger cots, plastic tweezers with soft tips, and a set of metal tweezers, along with the focusing screen wrapped securely with plastic. There were no instructions included but it does show the process on their e-bay store.
I have removed my focusing screen before as one of the first things I did when I got my camera was get dust on the factory Pentax screen so I had to learn to clean it. I removed the factory screen ... |
