Pros: Compact
Cons: AAA batteries

For my Pentax K-3 II I was looking for a "built in" flash. Stumbled upon this one in an online market place. Came as if it came out of the shop. Box, manual, fabric pocket, diffusor and of course the flash itself. Easy to mount. But flimsy batterie door. Stil it works out of the box. Can set red eye reduction. And dim to -2 stops and expand +1 stop. Ideal for a pocket flash.

Pros: Small, Light and it Works
Cons: It is still a Flash to close to the Lens. ReLoad Time is long

Hello

I bought this Flash in a secondhand platform here in Switzerland nearly free (CHF 18 ≈ US$ 20). Original Packed and probably used only "one" time!

I will only use it on my k-1 which has no builtin Prisma-flash! I made a couple of shots in PTTL and the exposure was perfect (no under over- or under-exposure)
The Quality is, as usual with Metz, very well done. Builtin is the 18-24 WideAngle-Adapter. The 85mm TeleAdapter is separate and will easily lost

I made some test pictures with a K-1 and a Sigma 2.8/105mm EX/DG. The best pictures was not made not with the Tele-Adapter but with the WideAngle-Adapter ?!?

I updated the Firmware to 1.3

It works perfect. It is for Instant-Pictures, not to composed good pictures.
The Tele-Adapter

For normal Flash Pictures I will use the normal Pentax, HighEnd Metz-Flashes or my Paul Buff Einstein-Flashes

The "LED" Function I will probably never use!
The "Slave"-Function is for me a Design Mistake. I think it should be better if they had made it a "Master"-function in this Flash. So I still need to use my "Cactus V6" to remote fire my other flashes.

Because of my cheap BuyingPrice it is absolute worth. It seems the 26AF1 or 26AF2 is not available in the retail store. I had the 26AF2 in BackOrder for more as 4 months till it was cancelled.
The Local StreetPrice of the flash (CHF 132 ≈ US$ 145) is too expensive for what you get. Better buy a Metz 52 or 58 if you will get no great discount. After using it for a couple of days now, my price limit for a new one would be about CHF 75 ≈ € 70 ≈ US$ 82)

I suggest the 26AF1 is Obsolete. I did a search on both manuals of the 26AF1 & 26AF2 and found no differences. Also the Firmware Update is for both the Same?!?
