Pros: | Very easy access on camera, stable on backpack, solid design. Comfortable wearing | Cons: | When clip is out of view (eg hidden under a skarf) some fiddling to get the camera in. | | Hi, I am wondering if anyone has this clip? Or any others from competition like B-grip or Cotton Carrier?
I am sick of my DIY solution posted in https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/6-pentax-dslr-discussion/231905-running-c...ml#post2465162
because the back keeps bouncing on my belly. Not a problem for one hour, but for the 10 days 8 hour hikes in rough terrain it is not so nice.
The clip looks nice and I like the concept, just that I have few concerns. Will the clip damage my shoulder strap of my backpack? If the shoulder strap breaks mid-hike I have a huge problem. Second, the back plate on the back side of the shoulder strap, will it start irritating? Cant have that. The pro version is aluminium with sharp edges. That will start to hurt more.
Curious about your opinions and experiences.
*** EDIT ***
I bought the PRO version today because of two reasons - The adapter that goes on the camera looks a bit sturdier. Being a square plate adapter there may be some torque on the plate due to the swaying. (even when I m not drunk) The bigger rubber patch will prevent it from untwisting it self better. - The alu plate is just as rounded as the plastic plate. It will hurt just as much when pressed into your body. I haven't used it yet with a 25kg backpack, but I think it should be OK.
The added plate with 3/8 thread for mounting on a tripod I will take for granted. Not likely that I will remove the clip from my backpack in order to mount it on a tripod.
