Pros: | Ergonomic, saves money. | Cons: | Pricey. | | Just recently acquired one of these grips and I like it for two reasons. One is it fills my hand much better than the standard Lithium grip and gives a little more feel of weight in the camera. The second is that it uses the much cheaper and readily available AA batteries. Lithium batteries can be quite expensive at AUS$25 a pop and you have to order them either through an online store or go to a specialty battery store. I can at least recommend this grip at least for myself and anyone else who has large man hands. Haven't used it yet to give a report on battery performance and longevity.

Pros: | Allows use of cheaper, readily available AA batteries | Cons: | | | I have one. Bought it many years ago when 2CR5 batteries were very expensive (in relation to wages). I don't know where I bought it - possibly when I was living on Norfolk Island from 1990-1993. The box has $36.95 on it. Had I bought it Saudi Arabia in 1989 when I bought my SFX, the price would be in Riyals.
The biggest problem was that it eventually tore the camera case even though it was perforated to allow a bit of stretching.
It seems that they aren't that common.
