Pros: Build quality
Cons: None

These are only a set of tubes! This is what one may think, if one have not tried the third party alternatives. I started with a set of aluminum Russian tubes. They worked a while, but began to get difficult in threads. Eventually the two smaller ones were unusable. So, I headed up to Ebay and got a set of brand new Chinese version. They looked good, but when I set them up, the focusing window and the aperture settings turned beneath the set. So, one may turn the whole camera, tripod, lens set up, to set the aperture and make focus!
I was done, and didn't look for tubes anymore. A while ago I saw a set, titled Takumar tubes. They looked very clean and beautiful. I got them for 9.50 + shipping and VAT, 25 USD is the total price.
I did not know the Takumar set from before. When I get them, they looked suspiciously new! Are they really Takumar? The only thing visible is texts; No I, No II, No III on the flange. I didn't care, they felt very nice in my hand and the threads seemed to be very good. On the camera, the focus and aperture settings turned right on the top side.
I just love to handle these tubes, and while I was playing, I saw under the no III, the dark text, which reads ASAHI OPT.Co Japan.
I deeply appreciate the work ethic of those guys. Just think that their screw mount lenses have been in action for more than 60 years, and they still work perfectly.

Pros: Build quality, auto-diaphragm
Cons: none

These are the version for super-takumar onwards of the extension tube
They have the push-pin to match the Spotmatics

Pros: Build quality and thread precision.
Cons: None.

Purchased the full set on eBay to round out the accessories for my Spotmatic. Build quality is second-to-none. Beautifully machined and finished, and they share the excellent knurling pattern used on SMC Super Takumar lenses. This tube set threads and seats onto camera without play, which did not occur with lesser, third-party extension tubes. Supplies are dwindling, so get yours while you can. Highly recommended!

Pros: Build quality
Cons: none

I have about 10 different brands of extension tubes in my parts bin. The physical build quality of these is heads and shoulders above the rest. They are simply a pleasure to use. The quality of the threads on 3rd party tubes is inferior. These always thread easily and precisely. These are the best M42 extension tubes I have ever used.

Pros: Build Quality
Cons: None

I love these things, the build quality is excellent, they have the same ribbed design as do the Takumar lenses. What I most enjoy about these tubes is one the feel and the snug fit is excellent but more importantly the light damping material on the inside of the tubes is outstanding.

I shot reversed macro and have had flare problems with other tubes, Because I am shooting reversed I do not need the electronic connections that the modern tubes afford. So I have in the past simply purchased inexpensive tubes on ebay, that is until a set of these came with some old Takumar lenses that I had purchased. They are outstanding, If you get a set you will not be disappointed.
