| Bought this used for my K10D and was extremely pleased that it fitted my later K20D. I wasn't aware at the time of the commonality.
It's more or less a permanent fixture on either of them now.

Pros: | Weather Sealed, Adds Balance with Larger Lenses | Cons: | None | | Came as part of my Grand Prix Edition kit, well made and offers great balance when used with Larger Lenses on the K10D. Love the weather sealing and great that the Battery Tray addes a spare SD card slot.

Pros: | Portrait shooting, Extra Battery, Sd Card slot, weather sealing | Cons: | No AF | | Wouldn't be without it. Shot two weddings this summer and couldn't have made it without it. Doubling the battery life was very important. If you have a K10 or K20 you shouldn't be without it considering the low cost today.

Pros: | Weather Sealed, Storage Compartment | Cons: | None | | If you have a K10D or K20D, this is highly recommended! The weather sealing on this really fits well with the body. Being able to hold an extra battery, OEM remote, and extra SDHC is so useful!Don't buy a cheap third-party, just spend a little extra on this one!

Pros: | remote and SD slot! | Cons: | the grip part is a bit thin when you are holding it | | It makes the camera looks perfect.
It also saves me a few time for not bringing my remote and it got one in it!!
Love it.

Pros: | Well made and adds functinality to the body | Cons: | adds weight but, duh | | This increases battery life, has the extra wheels, and helps with the grip when using macro or longer lenses. It does add some weight to the rig, but I use a Optech harness with this body anyway. I lucked into a good deal on this right after I got my K20d.

Pros: | Better grip on camera, extended battery power | Cons: | None | | For me this grip is essential for use with my K10. I found the K10 o be too small for my not overly large hands. It reminds me of my old MX winder from the film days. The K10 just feels wrong without it. The grip gave me a surer purchase on the camera and an added sense of security. It adds a fair bit of weight to the unit but this is a reasonable trade off for better performance to my mind. The additional shutter release for vertical shots is a bonus as is the storage space for the extra battery, remote and memory card. If you have a K10 or K20 this is "the" essential accessory from my point of view.

| From an amature user: I would not be without the grip. I also have larger hands and it makes camera handeling much better and safer. Further I use a heavy tele lens on occasion and I would really dislike the package without the extra grip area. It also protects the camera body from base plate wear and tear. If you are a hiker and shoot with smaller lenses I suppose you would find the extra size and weight the grip provides not an advantage. For me and my purposes I would not be without it. I paid retail from a NY supplier.

Pros: | Well built | Cons: | None | | This was my first purchase for my k10d and it still serves me well on my k20d. As far as I am concerned, it is the best investment I made (besides my lenses). It adds balance to the camera and extends life by allowing an extra battery to charge the camera.

Pros: | Makes camera larger; Holds an IR remote; Holds an extra SD card. | Cons: | Need to remove BG to recharge both batteries | | Even though you need to remove it from the camera in order to recharge the body's battery, (ref: "cons" above), having big hands, I really like the overall larger feel it gives my K20D. I wouldn't be without it!
Although it weighs next to nothing, when added to the camera it really helps to steady the camera.
Truthfully speaking; in over a year I have never used the added controls on the BG. I just twist my hands around to take a portrait style of photo.
Side bonus: My friend has a Nikon D90 with BG. He was really jelous that I carried my IR remote and spare SD card in the grip. LoL

Pros: | Solid | Cons: | Controls not as sensitive as the ones found on the body | | Excellent build quality. The buttons require more pressure to function, however, which is unintuitive at first.
As with the K-7/K-5 battery grip, my main complaint is that it forces me to remove the grip if I want to remove the battery from the body. For some it's an advantage: you can remove the battery grip whenever you want to make your camera lighter, and keep shooting immediately. For others like me, it's a hassle: since I used to shoot for long periods of time (music festivals, documentary, etc.), it kind of interrupted my workflow.

Pros: | Quality, design | Cons: | Nothing to speak of. | | What more is there to say. If you have a K10d or K20d you should really consider one.
If you have bigger hands or use a lot of heavier lenses or need extended battery life, or heck if you just like the look of it, then get it.

Pros: | Pentax build quality, weather sealed, spare SD card compatment, IR remote control F compartment | Cons: | None for me | | The D-BG2 is a must have for the K20D IMO. It makes the camera much more user friendly than it already is. Having a spare SD card securely stored with the battery is excellent. Also having a compartment for the very easily lost remote control F is a great feature. If you are considering getting a second hand K20D, I would highly recommend getting the D-BG2 as well.

Pros: | Improves K20D ergonomics, extra power in weather resistant package, vertical wheels + green button. Pentax genuine build quality. | Cons: | K-5 grip has more controls.... otherwise none. | | This grip adds greatly to too shallow handlebar on K20D. K20D with D-BG2 feels like a weapon actually.... feels just great!
It is top quality made, adds a weather sealed additional power plus storage for SD card and a pilot. Battery compartment locking mechanism looks and feels confident.
Nice addition to your K20D - good idea ti get one. Due to K10D/K20D compatibility - it is much more available than D-BG3 (K200D) grip.

Pros: | K10D feels naked without it | Cons: | Adds weight, some button placement issues | | Very happy to add this to my K10D pretty much from new. It makes the camera weighty but rather more flexible as I like to do mostly portrait orientated shooting
Decent build, excellent fit, mostly does a great job. Stores the 'F' remote and spare SD card too
Don't like; Tripod thread is in the wrong place for panorama shooting (which is annoying) and green button is awkward to get to (which gets very annoying)
Would love it to take AAs but guess I will have to upgrade my K10 for that
