Pros: | Cheap | Cons: | QC seems questionable at best, Russian Roulette with your gear | | A sure-fire way to get a 1 on a review is if the item simply does not work as promised.
In this case, the batteries don't even FIT as promised. I generally use Energizer rechargables (they seem to hold their charge well, and are found easily enough).
In this situation, my wife picked up a pack of the Rayovacs by mistake. I didn't think much of it - before the switch to Energizers I used Rayovacs all the time. They were cheap, and they worked well enough if you didn't mind the short life expectancy between charges.
This time around, I found myself experiencing all sorts of camera issues, up to and including misfires where the camera (K-30, less than a month old) simply couldn't handle high speed shots without the mirror showing in the frame.
At first I thought it was the lens, then the camera, and then I recalled that the batteries seemed a touch 'sloppy' going into the Pentax AA adapter, as well as the battery charger itself.
I did a bit of investigating and, well... a picture tells a thousand words as they say. Just a Bit Short by Jody Roberts, on Flickr
Needless to say, Rayovacs are now on my 'DO NOT BUY' list.
Yea, they're cheap, but they also aren't even sized correctly to even be safely used in your equipment.
