Product seems to come branded by quite a few different manufacturers/suppliers. I recently purchased this one secondhand for an absolute steal of a price. I seldom have any requirement to do detailed macro work, but this wee gizmo certainly does the job and speeds up the workflow no end. It allowed me to do the image shown below (which was a 94 focus stack), on my first outing without any hassles. https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=633215 https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=633269

Recently purchased second hand this Carbon Fibre tripod as my "go to carry on". All the usual Gitzo build quality, it appears nothing has been skimped on this ultralight (1.84kg with head) version. Compactness: with the 180° leg folding system pioneered by Gitzo, Which enables its legs to reverse-fold around the Centre column, the tripod is ultra-compact. Smoothness: professional centre Ball heads features independent Pan lock and a ball-movement control lock, including a friction control knob for precise adjustment. Arca Swiss type compatible head plate Creative shots : with its 2 leg angles spread and the included short centre column, the tripod goes lower for low-angle or macro shots. Comfortable carrying: the included shoulder strap allows convenient switching between carrying and shooting. The tripod can be carried horizontally or vertically. BTW: Gitzo if your needing a Brand Ambassador in the Highlands of Scotland... get in touch. ;)

Levelling bases are available for most of the premium tripod systems, normally utilising half ball and centre column arrangement, for my Gitzo... an additional cost of $519.85 & 1.31 lbs weight increase. So this is quite an inexpensive way to immediately resolve the usual "faffing about" of the levelling the tripod platform via the adjustment of each of the individual tripod legs. A small movement of the 4 legged collar (less than a quarter turn), allows for a 15° tilt function in any direction.

Now presented in a much smaller footprint, i.e. take up less real estate on your desk and slips more easily into most laptop bags when travelling. Super-slim tablet size now 338 x 219 x 8 mm (13.2 x 8.5 x 0.3 in) with an Active area of 224 x 148 mm (8.7 x 5.8 in), which I believe was the same as before. Weight: 700 g

Relatively inexpensive when compared to some own brand products and let us be honest... the purpose of this product, does not require it to be highly engineered or designed, it's a leg wrap. These are sold as a complete set of 3... be aware that some other manufacturers products are sold as singles. Made from 4mm neoprene, in plain black, which is reversible with velcro seam. Made to fit the top/main first section of your tripod legs, (my set was for my Gitzo GT5543XLS). A whole range is available for various tripod manufacturers, with sizes to suit most tripods, selection is made from an easy drop down list. These are ideal for both protecting the tripod from knocks or scratches, but perhaps more importantly for me... insulation for my hands and body when carrying in cold conditions. Please note that these leg wraps are not suitable for tripods with cross supports.

Bought this a couple of months ago after reading various reviews, I must now admit... it does exactly "what it says on the tin". :) [Space saving & Patented Clamp Design] The patented clamp design allows the light bar stably placed on the monitor, thereby declutter and free up desk space. The led light is perfect for monitors with a thickness from 1-3cm and is compatible to extra-wide and curved monitors from 1000R and above. [Auto Dimming & Sensitive Touch Control] With a built-in light sensor, BenQ ScreenBar can intelligently adjust to the perfect light level according to the ambient with one touch. Under normal circumstances, the led lamp will illuminate to 500 lux, which complies with the American National Standard for office lighting. While in a dimly-lit room (under 50 lux), the lamp automatically adjusts illuminance to 300 lux, thereby eliminating the discomfort caused by strong light contrasts. [Manually Stepless Dimming & Adjustable Colour Temperature] Our office light can also be manually adjusted both the brightness and the colour temperature by long-pressing the keys. Adjust the light level from 300 lux to 1000 lux to suit your preference. 2700K-6500K hue adjustment allows you to switch between warm and cool light based on your needs, creating a comfortable work or entertaining environment for you. Covering 6500K colour temperature, our ScreenBar is also a suitable LED daylight lamp for visually demanding and colour sensitive applications. [No Screen Glare & USB Powered] With the asymmetrical optical design, our monitor light can completely prevent screen reflections and direct glare, offering a comfortable screen reading experience. The light bar has a ±10° rotation, so you can easily adjust it to the perfect angle. The office light can be powered by any USB outlet (USB Type C Cable). Once turn it on, BenQ ScreenBar resumes your last used brightness and colour temperature settings. [Eye Caring & Premium Quality] Our monitor lamp uses high quality LED light source which is flicker free and anti-blue light hazard. Compliant with IEEE PAR1789 and IEC/TR 62778. CRI>95 reveal the natural colour of objects. The light bar is made of sand-blasted matte black aluminium alloy, giving you a great touch feeling and build quality. A perfect home office accessory for business professionals and creators. Long lifespan which is officially tested over 50,000 hours.

Seems to be not much love here for Gitzo on the forum, so just a quick review. It's just a joy to use, does all that one could ask of a tripod and does it well. All in all, a fine piece of engineering and when used in conjunction with my RRS Ball Head, provides a perfect tool for my needs. At the same time, I also bought a set of Gitzo Spikes to suit, for use in soft Scottish countryside. ;) It's just above my eye level (with head and camera on) without bottom/last section of legs extended. Borrowed one from a colleague recently, I was impressed enough to buy my own. 7 Year Warranty too.

Bought via Amazon for use with my "Special Lady” (Pentax-A 50mm F1.2) to replace the round clip/screw on Nikon HS-2, which had a habit of falling off at the most inopportune moments. :o This 52mm rectangular metal screw on hood has a very discrete independent locking ring, to secure the hood in the correct orientation, i.e. longest side to match sensor format. :) If it's good enough for Leica... what more can I say. ;) https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=464010

Purchased from Amazon as a cheap and cheerful, Quick Release Clamp for occasional use on Manfrotto Monopod, screwed straight on to the top. Product description from manufacturer is: The body is CNC precision machined aluminium alloy, surface treated anode anti-oxidation, with Copper Washer. Simple to use just loosen the screw which adjusts clamp width and then tighten to secure. It has the two recesses to capture those retaining bolts, which stop the bracket/plate sliding out of the quick release, should you forget to tighten down. Compatible with RRS, Arca Swiss, Kirk, Wimberley, Markins, Sunwawayfoto, Kangrinpoche, Benro, Sirui.

Ricoh Pt No 37248 Using either my tripod or the Platypod with a ballhead on, more and more recently. :) But believe it or not... here in Scotland we've had a few brighter days recently, where the usual infrared trigger (Pentax Remote Control F) has become a bit hit or miss, even with its new battery, purely due to bright conditions. :( So I managed to pick up of these secondhand this morning, from my only local camera store (Ffordes). For just £20.00, the normal new UK retail price is £30.00, so a happy bunny and lets be honest... it is just a switch. ;) As luck would have it, the socket for this on K1, is on the righthand side when viewed from behind the camera, so my universal RRS L-Bracket does not block access to it. :)

I couldn't believe this ball head didn't already have a review. It's just a joy to use, does all that one could ask of a Ball Head and does it well. A beautiful fine piece of engineering. I went for the "Old School" screw knob clamp rather than lever, as it can work with some of the other lesser compatible "Arca-Swiss" type rail mounts. Specs BH55 Ball Head: Load Capacity: 23 kg, Height: 89 mm, Base Diameter: 74 mm, Ball Diameter: 55 mm, Tripod Mount: 3/8"-16, Weight: 726 g Specs for Clamp B2 Pro II: Jaw Length: 60mm, Width: 112mm, Height: 25mm, Weight: 125g Update 08/08/2022: But now rather than keep switching the heads about, I've added an additional BH-55 with 60MM Lever Release Clamp B2-LR-II. This will from now on be permanently attached to my Platypod-Max. Rather than my preferred Screw Knob Release, I've gone for the Lever Release, purely because it's easier to operate at the lower mounting levels offered by the Platypod. So yes... I'm now a happy bunny again. :D Platypod Max review: https://www.pentaxforums.com/accessoryreviews/platypod-max.html

I needed a quick simple low level method of camera support, while still retaining as much functionality as possible. This product while maybe not be cheapest, it certainly does the job. It's made of aircraft-grade aluminium and titanium, the 5mm-thick Max is perfect for heavy DSLRs and full-sized video cameras, large lenses, bulky flashes and accessories weighing up to 300lbs. Key features are: Fibreglass reinforced nylon removable "bayonet style" storage box that holds four 1/4-20 spike feet. Small magnets hold spikes when stored. Five 1/4-20 threaded holes to allow use of spike feet in configurations of one, two, three, or four at a time. Two 2-inch belt slots to secure to any cylindrical object or to tape onto floors for remote camera setups. Made of 6061 black anodised aircraft-grade aluminium. 5 mm thick. 5.25 x 7.75” 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 accessory threaded holes for attachment to tripods or quick-release devices. 3/8-16 TA2 titanium photographic bolt drilled, countersunk and welded in place for large tripod ball heads, even with spike feet in place. Two nail holes for permanent or semi-permanent mounting. Weight: 13 ounces, including spikes and storage box. Max comes with the Base Plate, four spike feet and removable storage box, 1/4" - 1/4" male-to-male cross nut, a microfibre pouch, and a 5 year warranty. I also purchased the Multi Accessory Kit ($29) to go with it, which contains these handy items: a 3" long 3/8"-1/4" female to female spigot adapter for portable and studio lighting; a silicone pad 4"x6" 2mm thick to give a secure sticky grip on flat surfaces, a 36-inch 1.5" wide cinch strap for securing your Platypod on to freestanding objects (trees and wide poles) and a 1.5" anodised aluminium 0.5" riser 3/8"-1/4" female socket-male bolt that accommodates more tripod ball heads and a 41/4" x 61/4" draw string pouch to keep them all in. Update 08/08/2022: But now rather than keep switching the heads about, I've added an additional BH-55 with 60MM Lever Release Clamp B2-LR-II. This will from now on be permanently attached to my Platypod-Max. Rather than my preferred Screw Knob Release, I've gone for the Lever Release, purely because it's easier to operate at the lower mounting levels offered by the Platypod.

I needed to be able to mount a K1 with grip, in portrait format on a Really Right Stuff ball head while attached to a Platypod. https://www.pentaxforums.com/accessoryreviews/really-right-stuff-bh-55-pro-with-b2-pro-ii-clamp.html https://www.pentaxforums.com/accessoryreviews/platypod-max.html I was unable to source a custom L Bracket for the K1 with grip, so a universal bracket was my only way to go at this time, this product is both well made and meets my needs. The QR11-FBG Quick Release Plate has a Base Length of 120mm / 4.75" with two additional retaining bolts (2.5mm hex), to stop it sliding out of the quick release, should you forget to tighten down. The Upright Height is 126mm / 4.96" and has cable access and 1/4"-20 accessory mount, the Shoe is 38mm / 1.5 " Standard Arca-Swiss, weight 0.12kg / 0.26lbs. This is a universal bracket and therefore access on the left hand side battery compartment on the grip and also the flap (DC IN, HDMI, USB) is blocked. For me this is not problem as I run twin batteries and if I need to change, I just slacken the mounting screw and slide it round to clear. I guess you could mount it the other way i.e. on the right hand side, but then you would block access to the memory cards. It's a two piece L Bracket, so you could take it apart for easy stowage and comes with a pouch, strap attachment lugs are provided, but I'm already using the lugs on the camera top and grip. Here's what's in the box, and it comes fully assembled and is beautifully packed: 1 x QR11-FBG Quick Release L Bracket, Stagsden Stainless Steel camera screw, Retaining bolts (2.5mm hex) for horizontal axis security, Multi Tool, hex key, coin key, key ring, carabiner and bottle opener. It comes in two colours a METALLIC SLATE (GREY) which has a slight Green tinge to it and EQUINOX COPPER (ORANGE)

As I result of pjv recommendation below, I bought both this and the Manfrotto Monopod Tilt Head with Quick Release 234RC at the same time. They both use the same plates and are therefore interchangeable, which allows easy switching between monopod and tripod. Really like the safety catch system on the release lever, as I have been known to knock these catches open with some other systems. ;)

I'm really showing my age now, but I'm sure there's a generation of photographers out there, who grew up with this meter and its other earlier cousin versions. But IMHO its use is still as valid today in modern photography. Mine in still used occasionally for difficult lighting set ups, as a form of confirmation, especially for incident light readings. The Master V film speed dial suits both ASA and DIN specifications and is designed for film speeds up to 16000 ASA and 43 DIN. For reflected light readings the instrument alone is used. For exposure determination by the incident light method the Invercone attachment should be fitted. Reflected light and incident light methods each have their uses but it should be noted that the latter is particularly recommended for colour reversal work.

For every day use I can't fault it, just throw it in the transport and go, any where, and any time. :) Heavy ish but then its got wheels. Don't bother the Peli Shoulder Strap, fitings suppled with it don't work with this case and the carabiners at each end of the strap are too small really to fit through handles. I must admit I still sometimes decant just what kit I need to a Crumpler when I get to location. You need to check with some of the budget airlines especially here in the UK to confirm for sizes for walk on hand luggage, as it's pretty close to max sizes (no one likes these sort of surprises last minute at check in) :hmm: Also available is the photographic lid organiser (as shown in pictures at top of page) this screws into the lid with small self tap screws and is great for all those bits and bobs we all have.

Does all that is expected of it. I liked the shorter coiled version it kept things neater when using the flash mounted via bracket to camera. Remember to put the wee plastic body cap on the camera somewhere safe, easy to lose as it must be taken off to use this lead.

Great for glasses wearers, when there is not enough correction built into the camera viewfinder. :) Biggest problem, but not a fault of the product, when in use is finding somewhere to put the glasses once you have taken them off, where they don't get left behind or broken but remain easily available to put back on when you finished looking through the viewfinder.

A must if your planning longish exposures, it just stops any extra stray additional light from entering the camera via the eyepiece. :)

A great accessory to add to the wonderful LX camera, it helped to balance the camera in large hands when using heavy or bulky fast glass. ;) It adds extra shooting buttons for vertical portrait shots, also has the flexibility of multiple power source connections via a separate Battery Grip M handle using 12 AA batteries, the Ni-Cd Battery Pack LX and the Ni-Cd Power Pack M, which is used to power Motor Drive LX by AC current. The first two could be connected by the Power Cord M to keep batteries warm in cold weather. It even has a quick film rewind (about 8 secs for 36 exposure roll) and stops automatically at the end of the rewind.

The extra correction range on this, over the standard one (FA-1), allowed me to do away with the additional slip on correction screen, brilliant as it would often slid off when touched on knocked. :)

It does what is says, just be a bit careful mounting it as it's only plastic, ham fisted attempts will require the application of some glue to repair. :)

Works fine, I use the double battery set up (one in the camera, one in the grip) without any dramas. Can be a little pricey, I'm sure there are cheaper clones out there, but I'm just not prepared to risk it, considering the investment I have in the rest of the system, batteries are the cheap bit. :)

It became the standard eyepiece on my LX’s :) It allowed for the quick framing without the eye being too close to the finder, ideal for spectacles wearers, albeit the image does appear smaller. But, when used with the SA-23 Microprism/Matte screen (similar to SA-21, which had sharper prism angles to aid focusing with high-speed fl.2–f/2.8 lenses) it was very easy to get fast focus. ;) The rotational eyepiece was good for low level work i.e. when used like a waist level finder also it allowed for the camera to be used upside down above heads in crowds and to still be able to see what you're taking at the time. Remember this is in film days without the benefits of fast instant digital reviews.

I've been using one of these for over 27 years now, it offers great flexibility in terms of use. :) 8th January 2021 Update: Thats now over 38 years and still going strong. :) 12th March 2023 Update: Now over 40 years and still fully functional. Due to the unique way the legs and column lock, i.e. one bent bolt, which is where I believe is where the name comes from BENt BOlt. Originally based on a early machine gun tripod mounting from WW1, but that bit info may just be hype. ;) The larger diameter part of the leg is at the bottom and slides over the upper part. This means the leg is effectively sealed up to the first clamp, on mine that's 0.84m (33") measured from the tip to the clamp, so you can stick it in sand, mud water, whatever you want without problems. It takes a little getting use to, but the trick is not to loosen it too much, otherwise the legs go every which way. :D It extends up to 2.56m (101") and closes down to 1.14m (45") not including any head. Load Capacity is 22 lbs, that's just shy of 10 kgs (9.98 kgs)

Two quick adds to the above reviews when using with K10Ds & K20Ds. The remote operates the camera from both in front and behind up to the remote range limit. :) It also fits neatly inside the camera grip (BG-2) which makes it much easier and quicker to find when needed, rather than the bottom of the Crumpler. ;) Stop Press Update (17th April 2019) You can actually change the battery in this unit yourself, just three wee screws, a button cell (CR1620, 3 V, Lithium, 70 mAh, Flat Top, 16 mm, @ £1.00 or so), just note how it comes out and which way up etc, a couple of minutes to do. My remote range has now just gone back up from a two yards to eight yards, both outside on a dull day. ;) Not too shabby, my first new battery since 2008, can't complain at that.

As I said on my Katzeye review, I manual focus with old eyes, all my bodies have these fitted. It just helps me to get better focus. :) They tend to slide off the camera if you catch them on clothes etc, keep a spare in your bag, they are not expensive. Just try one and see how you get on.

I manually focus all the time, I have old eyes, so really I can't work without them, all my cameras have these fitted. :) I use split screen, mirco prism ring and optibrite treatment added as well, but no extra lines or grids. Some say these are expensive, but when you take into account the cost of the rest of your equipement, bodies and lenses etc. These screens make such a difference to every picture I take, so for me I think it's money well spent.

A great piece of kit, very robust and durable as flashguns go, I have several of these all serving me well and now they can be picked up quite cheaply. :) Used as a manual flash hard to beat, but lacks some of the more modern auto flash modes.

All my bodies are fitted with grips, apart from the obvious stuff, switches/buttons for vertical portraits, I can't imagine using a camera without a grip. I have huge-ish hands and fast heavy glass, for me it just balances the camera in use. :) The second battery is also a must for me (failure is not an option and yes I carry additional batteries and bodies) and somewhere to put that tiny remote is handy, otherwise on that rare occassion I need it, I would never be able to find it in the Crumpler. ;)

Just to agree and to add a bit more, with all that has been said, I've been using one now, for a good number of years for both sports and music/gig photography. In addition I use the Manfrotto 234 Monopod Tilt Head, it just adds the additional plane of movement that I require in use, they also have quick release versions available if required. Also it collapses down small enough to fit suitcases when traveling, I wouldn't recommend hand luggage, as it has a shape similar enough on x ray scanners to get you unwelcome attention. ;)
