RoHS Ring 48 (sold under various names)
supersize

Description:
This LED 'flash' is sold by various sellers, like Amazon.co.uk, but the price varies quite a bit - here locally it costed three times the Amazon price!

Excellent for macro, not least to get a proper focus, before you apply your real flash!

So it is actually a portable studio lighting, in the form of a ring flash. You can either power it by two AA batteries, or a wall PSU. You can either use all the 48 LEDs or half (left or right side).

The unit comes with various lens adaptors, from 49 to 67 mm. The attachment rings are threaded onto the lens, and then the unit is slipped on - a wee bit too loose fit, easily corrected with some tape. The batter unit attaches to the camera's hot shoe, but doesn't connect to the camera, so can be fitted elsewhere!

Pros: Works well!
Cons: The adator rings a bit loose - a bit of tape fixes it easily!

Plan to use it to help the camera's focusing, when using ND filters, as it is hopeless otherwise! The ND filters I mainly use to make the Pentax's low flash synch speed become more practical! Then I'll use a Metz 58 AT-1 external flash during the exposure!

As up to now, no problems, what-so-ever!
