Pros: Small, well-built, solid support
Cons:

Bought on the recommendation of others in the Q forum, and it is an excellent and permanent addition to my Q. This has really made a difference in how I use my Q!

Full disclosure: I'm a die-hard tripod user with my larger cameras, so I'm not new to longer exposures or self-portraits or interesting angles, and at first I just put my Q on a counter or shelf or wherever I could stick it to take photos. (Hey, it's tiny!) Then I stuck a Gorillapod underneath the Q for some time-lapse and video work. That was nice, but very temporary since it made the Q (relatively) gigantic. Next, I used a Manfrotto tabletop tripod (209) for some indoor stuff, which was smaller and more stable, but still rather bulky. Of course, both of these mini-tripods have to be disconnected before I can use the Q as a walk-around camera.

With the MP-C01, I have a tripod-like support that is as tiny as the Q (hides completely beneath it when folded) and while it isn't as tall or adjustable as my other mini-tripods, it can always be there... on my Q, in my pocket, just ready and waiting! Another bonus is that by positioning the support under the shutter release at an extended angle, I actually have a place to rest my bottom two fingers while holding the diminutive Q. Like slim little accessory grip or something!

Is it perfect? Not quite. It's made of high-grade plastic and metal, and has non-slip rubber coating, but the adjustable "legs" have no detents to provide matched positioning (to know, by feel, that they are all at the same height, and therefore level). The legs don't wiggle or move, but it would be better if I didn't have to hold it up to my eyes to verify that the front two legs are extended identically. But for $24 I suppose that's asking a bit much...

Pros: Small, tight tolerances, works as intended
Cons: None

I got the MP1-C01 Pocket Tripod for use with my Pentax Q - which is, as we all know, the smallest interchangeable lens camera in the world. So, I wanted something that kept its size down because that is one of the big advantages of the Q - it's tiny. I have several more traditional small (3inch or so) tripods but each has its drawbacks and can't easily stay attached and out of the way with the camera. The MP1-C01 was mentioned in an accessory thread and given a big thumbs up because when not in use it folds up and is barely there, so I thought I'd give it a try.

Wow, its a genuine Manfrotto and it shows. Tight tolerances, solid construction, works as described and comes with that little extra that we have come to expect from Manfrotto. It comes with a storage bag with closure, no big deal, but it also shipped with a back-up screw to mount it to the camera in case the one in the tripod is lost. Excellent. The feet are stiff, and need to be to maintain position, but easily moved at the same time giving the tripod good functionality while making it stable.

One use I haven't seen mentioned in any of the reviews at Amazon is pointing the camera upward at a decent angle so that you can take self/group portraits more easily. Each of the 3 legs is positioned independently allowing for compensation for variation in terrain and changing the angle of the camera in relation to the surface you are using. Finally, unlike some owners of other small cameras, I don't have any worries about the attachment on the bottom of the camera getting in the way of the battery door because both the battery and SD card doors are on the sides of the Q!

11/8/12: 2 days of ownership later and I like this tripod even more. I did a presentation at my kids school the other night and took my Q. I put it on the piano and used the Manfrotto Pocket Tripod to angle it so the framing was just right for the video I wanted to shoot of the presentation. If I had just put it on the piano with the base of the camera it would have been off and no way to really get it framed right. Unobtrusive, effective, and easy. Very nice little $19 gadget for the Q!

11/30/12: 3 weeks of use and I just can't see how I got along without one of these for my P&S cameras for years. This little tripod is ROCK solid, small, and just plain works. It hasn't come off the Q in 3 weeks and I've used it so many times already its amazing.

Even if you do not own a Q, and why not?, this is a great accessory for that P&S camera you have too.

01/05/13: Another successful outing with my Q and Manfrotto MP1-CO1 Pocket Tripod! Vacation in Florida and its another instance of the little tripod being a steal of a tool at $19! Oh and leveling the camera is easier than I first thought too! The front two legs have arrows on the black plastic that align with notches on the metal moving part of the legs to align them for level surface use - something I missed until I happened to be looking closely at the bottom while trying to align them by eye. Another excellent detail but I wish they put such things in the very skimpy documentation that comes with this excellent product!
