Pros: | Easy 3D. Simple to capture movement. | Cons: | Expensive. Keystone issues. Mine does not setup as per the manual. Viewer only for 5" prints. | | I am disappointed by the Big Black Vertical Dividing Line down the center of each picture. I have found this can be slightly reduced by removing the UV filter but would be much reduced with the use of a prime 35mm (old 50mm lens) of short barrel length rather than the long barrel length of my DA 18-55 kit lens which has a deep barrel length- a lens recommended for use with the Adapter. I am awaiting a 49mm- 52mm stepup ring so I can have the unit permanently fixed to an old Pentax A 50mm. I expect better results.
The vertical bar can also be reduced by using the largest possible aperture but this reduces DOF which is a handicap in 3D photography where everything needs to be in focus.
Camera is best used manually. Tendency to overexpose by .5 to 1.0 stops. Autofocus is haphazard and best left on Manual.
I have issues with my unit that it does not align as per the instruction manual. Together with the sometimes severe keystone effect the results are best postprocessed for correction in suitable software such as Stereo Photo Maker which does a great job. Results are then quite acceptable.
The included viewer is recommended for 5' prints and indeed does not work well for 6" prints. This 3D Adapter is less than I had hoped for but does a job that nothing else can!
