Pros: | illumination capacity | Cons: | No digital settings | | Aquired this flash unit and have to say it works really well for Pentax cameras in P-TTL Produces nice tones. One bit of a drawback that there is no Sync connection. But overall a worthwhile purchase.

Pros: | Power, value | Cons: | Cheezy hot shoe, Few manual controls, no sync port or slave | | I've owned this flash for about a year. It works well and has been durable enough. It's good for P-TTL while mounted on the camera, and it works well as a bounce flash. I've also found it useful as a hair light and fill light while doing portrait work.
The flash foot does not have a locator pin, so it can be tricky to set it correctly on the hot shoe. I've found that if I push the flash foot all the way into the shoe, some of the pins do not make contact and P-TTL does not work, firing instead at full power.
The only manual settings are full power and 1/16 power. Non-TTL zoom is locked at 24mm, but you can use 17mm with the diffuser screen.
The battery door is a little hard to use, but the compartment accepts NiMH batteries easily.
I have not been able to use flash EV adjustments with this flash. I'm hoping that's an operator error.
Bottom line: if you want a P-TTL flash to use in auto mode only, this is a good value. If you want manual control, buy something else.

Pros: | Reasonably cheap P-TTL unit with auto zoom | Cons: | A bit large and bulky | | After much researching of flash units I decided to purchase this Sigma unit for £107 on Amazon UK. First thing you notice when opening the box is just how big this unit is, it looks even bigger when attached to the tiny K-r.
I have to say though that so far I'm rather pleased with its performance. I haven't taken too many pictures with it but those I have show a considerable improvement over the built in K-r flash.
The power zoom function seems to work rather well as does the built in "Wide" panel filter and the catch light panel. My unit also came with the orange flash stand and a storage bag.
