This is a great monopod head, but I sometimes use it with tripods, and then usually those with leveling heads built-in (like the Berlebach Mini).

You can't find a sturdier head, and it moves in a full 180-degree arc.

The angle-locking handle is sturdy and the ARCA-Swiss-style plate compatible head holds onto the rail very firmly, too, and has a safety locking pin as well.

You press a red button on its front, and the locking pin retracts.

I used various Manfrotto monopod heads before this one, and, sadly, after a while, the angle locking started to slip, no matter what size of a head it was, or how hard you twisted the locking mechanism.

So these are now relegated to holding flashes and lamps, no catastrophy if they slip a bit.

Tha anle scale is very accurate, by the way.
