B&H's specs says the head is not interchangeable on this tripod, but that's incorrect. I had a Slik SBH-100 ball head that came with my Slik monopod, and I easily swapped the heads. I believe this "V" tripod is the same as the "III," except the III comes with a ball head instead of the pan/tilt head. I use this tripod with the ball head and added a 1.75" Kirk clamp. It works great as a "chest pod," on a table top, and when I need to get close to the ground and don't want to dig out my full-size tripod.
