Pros: | 2 compartments+ 2 zip pockets, comfy, space for netbook | Cons: | best for small kit, not ideal for tripod | | For its type (limited kit) I find it works very well. It can be converted to a single compartment but items extending into the upper portion would not be lashed down. I keep clothes/snacks in the top, SLR + 2-4 lenses in bottom, and use the two zip pockets for accessories (several mesh pockets are inside each zip pocket). Two small mesh outside pockets; a tripod could fit alongside but not conveniently. Padding in back is thick & nice, and a sleeve between straps and body can hold a netbook but not a larger laptop. Sternum strap but no waist belt. Velcro partitions in the bottom section can be arranged several ways to meet your needs.
I often bike to work with this pack, it's very handy (I put my u-bolt in the padded sleeve), weather-resistant, and bright so I'm less likely to be run down
For the paranoid - having never heard of Vanguard I don't think many people would see it as a pack full of camera gear, unlike the major brand names. | |
