Nice use of tension and a set ring to allow the universal fit of a reversible tulip hood for lenses. All too often used lenses come without hoods and finding the OEM hood is either impossible or cost-prohibitive. These hoods allow for use of the lens threads to screw in a ring that has a groove that fits the tensioning ball-bearings in the hood thereby making a snug fit that is reversible.

I just got a FA-J 18-35 UWA lens for my K-1 and KEH took the hood and was selling it separately for $30! Wow. This unit fits by screwing into the filter threads, is reversible, and universal. It works perfectly on the FA-J 18-35 and unlike the 3-stage rubber hood I had on it - no vignetting as long as the hood is positioned properly. Stores much more easily than my old 67mm 3-stage rubber hood too!

UPDATE: Used it all weekend at a major event where I took 2000+ photos (most with the 18-35) and it never came off when it shouldn't, never had a problem, and I have no vignetting on the photos from it! For oddball lenses and those that must have a hood, this one works very well indeed and doesn't break the bank.
