Pros: Can be used to steady items being photographed
Cons: Can be unstable - see review

This item has advantages in some types of photography, i.e. to hold steady windblown items. However, it is extremely sensitive to vibration transmitted from the camera operator through the tripod - it really needs a second tripod to hold the plamp itself and/or a remote release for the shutter. Its length limits the focal length of the lens to be used - some people use two connected together to give extra camera to subject distance.
