DA 50mm F1.8 Just $76

An early Black Friday deal

By PF Staff in Deals and Savings on Nov 12, 2016

Black Friday is early this year for the SMC Pentax-DA 50mm F1.8 lens— a short tele prime that's perfect for portraits and low-light photography.  The lens is currently selling at a record low price of just $76.95 on as well as B&H Photo (as of a few hours ago).

This sale price represents a considerable savings compared to the normal price of $116, and it's $13 below the previous sale price of $89, which was already lower than last year's "Black Friday" price in the US.

This fast fifty is an excellent choice as a second lens if you're currently only shooting with a kit zoom.  The video below illustrates some of the possibilities that a fast prime opens up:

Pentax Full Frame Zoom Sale

Save on the 5 pro lenses!

By PF Staff in Deals and Savings on Nov 11, 2016

In a surprise move, Amazon USA has just posted unprecedented deals on four Pentax D FA series full-frame zooms.  We've also gotten a nice deal on the already-affordable DA 50mm prime lens.

All five sale prices are the lowest we've seen at an authorized dealer this whole year.  These lenses are shipped and sold by and thus include the full USA warranty as well as free Prime shipping.

Note: some of these deals have already sold out.  Lenses can still be back-ordered at the lower price; click on the "other sellers" link on the pages above and select from the list of merchants.

We do not know how long these deals will last; they are currently not available at other major Pentax retailers in the US but this is subject to change.  Please follow our deals page for the latest updates.

Pentax K-3 II with Free Grip

A $279 savings value

By PF Staff in Deals and Savings on Oct 31, 2016

The APS-C flagship Pentax K-3 II is currently available with a free Pentax D-BG5 battery grip at select US retailers.  Valued at $279, the free item makes the effective cost of the body just $620— the lowest we've seen to date.

The Ricoh's own Pentax web store currently sells the K-3 II for $849, but does not offer a free grip.

Details on if and when this deal will expire are not currently known.

Ricoh GR II - $100 US Rebate

Save on the pocketable pro compact camera

By PF Staff in Deals and Savings on Oct 30, 2016

After a long summer without any significant Pentax or Ricoh camera rebates, we have finally spotted a great deal on the Ricoh GR II!  After selling between $679 and $699 for the past several months, the GR II is now available for around $599 at US authorized dealers.

Prices are current as of October 29th and are subject to change.

The Ricoh GR II and the GR that came before it are truly pocketable "pro" compacts with a 16-megapixel APS-C sensor and a 18mm F2.8 lens.  They are packed with advanced features and customizability, and continue to see regular feature-enhancing firmware updates.
