Pentax K-3 Silver & K-3 Prestige Price Drop

By PF Staff in Deals and Savings on Sep 8, 2014

In light of Pentax USA's recent $100 price drop on the black Pentax K-3, the two special editions of the K-3 (which are both readily available) have also just dropped in price.

The Pentax K-3 Premium Silver and K-3 Prestige both include a matching BG-5 battery grip and neck strap; they can now be had to $1246.95 and $1299.95, respectively.  These prices reflect $50 in savings on the K-3 Silver and $100 in savings on the K-3 Prestige.

The Prestige edition is the latest special version of the K-3; it features a gunmetal finish and is expected to start shipping in the coming days.  It's interesting that its price has already dropped despite the fact that it has yet to hit the shelves.  Learn more about it in the official announcement, or see our in-depth review for more on Pentax's flagship DSLR.

If you ordered a Pentax K-3 from B&H or Adorama at a higher price within the past 30 days, you may be eligible for a "price guarantee" refund.  Contact your retailer's customer service department for details.

While originally limited to a production run of 2,000 units, the popularity of the K-3 Premium Silver has prompted Pentax to extend its production to meet the ongoing demand.  We do not know if this will also be the case with the Prestige.
