Pentax Q Firmware v1.12 Released
Fixes issue with "tone expansion" smart effect

Pentax has just released a new v1.12 firmware update for the original Pentax Q. This update fixes an issue with the "Tone Expansion" Smart Effect found in the camera. As usual, it also includes the latest minor bugfixes.
We believe that this bug was introduced by firmware v1.11, which was taken down by Pentax shortly after being made available. We recommend that everyone running v1.11 update to the latest firmware version, even if you don't plan on using Tone Expansion.
For those of you still running v1.10 or earlier, this new firmware update will improve your camera's autofocus, so we recommend installing it.

Pentax K-5 II and K-5 IIs Firmware v1.04
Status screen bugfix

Pentax has just announced a new firmware update for the Pentax K-5 II and K-5 IIs on their Japanese support site. Firmware version 1.04 fixes an issue that could potentially freeze the camera's status screen. The firmware also brings the usual "stability improvements".

The original Pentax K-5 is not affected by this bug, and thus there is no new firmware update for it.
Pentax K-30 Firmware v1.04 Released
Fixes bug in v1.03

Pentax has just released a new (v1.04) firmware update for the K-30 which addresses instabilities found in v1.03, the previous firmware from late February. The new firmware does not introduce any new features or other improvements.
Since all Pentax firmware updates are cumulative, those who are running v1.02 or older will benefit from the fixes found in v1.03 when installing v1.04. We recommend that all K-30 owners update to the latest firmware version for the best possible stability.

Stability and autofocus improvements

Pentax has just released a new v1.11 firmware update for the Pentax Q. This update introduces the same stability and autofocus improvements that were included in firmware version 1.01 for the newer Q10.

Pentax K-5 II and K-5 IIs Firmware v1.03
Exposure improvements with AA batteries

Pentax has just posted a firmware update for the Pentax K-5 II and K-5 IIs on the Japanese support site. Firmware version 1.03 fixes stability bugs and improves exposure performance when using AA batteries via the battery grip.
User reports suggest that this firmware also corrects an issue with bounce flash exposure.
