Ricoh Imaging has released a series of long-awaited firmware updates for three of its Pentax DSLRs: the K-3 III, the K-1, and the K-1 II.
The new Pentax K-3 III firmware adds Astrotracer Type 3, which allows Astrotracer shots without a GPS unit by taking a reference shot. This feature had already been released as a beta version to select users, but is now an official function for all users. This firmware update also improves autofocus when using the viewfinder, as well as stability and performance improvements.
The new Pentax K-1 and Pentax K-1 II firmware adds the Satobi Custom Image profile. The Satobi profile delivers slightly muted colors, and gives an artistic nostalgic look to JPEGs straight out of the camera. This profile has previously been available on the K-3 III, and is now on the K-1 and K-1 II. This firmware update also brings stability and performance improvements.
