Pentax K-3 III Firmware Update v1.10 Released

Electronic shutter support added, plus stability fixes

By PF Staff in Firmware Updates on Jul 21, 2021

Ricoh Imaging has released its third update for the Pentax K-3 III, which not only improves stability, but also adds an exciting new feature: full electronic shutter support.  This means that the mechanical shutter can be disabled on demand (for quieter shooting and lower vibrations) up to 1/16000s.  Prior bodies only supported electronic front curtain shutter.

Download the K-3 III firmware from the official Pentax firmware site.

Official Pentax K-3 III v1.10 firmware notes:

  • When [Electronic Shutter] is selected, a high-speed shutter of fastest speed 1/16000 sec. is supported.
