Ricoh GR III Firmware v1.20 Released

Ricoh Imaging today released the second firmware update, v1.20, for the recently-launched GR III. This update is also the first feature-enhancing update; it adds a handful of features to the camera which are not present in the original firmware.  Like all updates, it is cumulative and includes everything added in prior updated firmware versions.

Firmware Release Notes

New features added:

  • [Grain Effect] has been added to the [Monotone], [Soft Monotone], [Hard Monotone] and [Hi-Contrast B&W] still image modes as adjustment items under [Image control] of the Record 6 [Image Process Setting] menu.
  • [Horizon Correction] has been added to the Record 7 [Shooting Assist] menu in the [Still Image Setting]. For more details view the supplement to the GR III manual.
Improvements:
  • Startup time improved when starting the camera in playback mode
  • Improved release speed when shooting subjects in varying lighting conditions
  • In [Auto-area AF], improved a rare issue that occasionally caused back-focus
  • Improved stability for general performance.
