Pentax Lens Price Drop Coming?
B&H Photo now showing much lower lens prices
By PF Staff in Pentax Rumors on Jun 9, 2012
Back in April, Pentax announced a unilateral pricing policy which significantly increased the prices of genuine Pentax lenses (in the DA and D FA series), to the point where many of them ended up being more expensive than their competitors' counterparts. Have Pentax reacted to the lack of sales by lowering their prices to a more reasonable level while still maintining the unilateral policy? Few will refute that Pentax's new policy raised the prices of some lenses beyond their value, especially considering that most of them were crop-sensor lenses.
We have just observed that at B&H photo, the prices of most Pentax lenses have fallen to somewhere in-between the old and the new prices. Interestingly, however, some DA and FA series lens prices have gone up slightly instead. Below is a table summarizing the price changes.

More information about all these lenses can found in our Pentax Lens Database. Don't forget to check our in-depth reviews as well! Also, remember that Sigma makes dozens of great lenses for Pentax as well, most of which are cheaper than their Pentax counterparts.
Because B&H photo does not accept orders until 9:45PM EST on Saturday, you can't secure any of these lenses at these lower prices quite yet, but we hope that they stick and that other retailers will adopt the same prices starting next week. Unofficial sources indicate that this is a worldwide pricing change, rather than something for the US only.
